Government expects tourist occupation at Easter with “very positive” outlook

Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Nuno Fazenda, said on Monday that the national tourist occupancy outlook for the Easter period is “very positive”.

“These are very positive perspectives. What are the signals we get from entrepreneurs, are positive signals in terms of bookings, occupancy rates”these Mondays said the ruler.

Nuno Fazenda spoke to the Lusa office in Gouveia, in the district of Guarda, on the sidelines of a session taking stock of the Transformar Comércio program launched by the government to help companies in the municipalities of Guarda, Covilhã, Seia, Gouveia , Celorico da Beira and Manteigas, in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park as a result of the fires in the summer of 2022.

According to the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, with regard to tourism, “Portugal as a destination is in high demand, both internationally and in the context of national demand”.

“And that’s why these are positive prospects for us to have a good Easter, also in tourism”predicted.

And continued: “By the way, we have a very positive outlook for the year 2023 in terms of tourism.”

“We had a very strong month of January, growing very significantly and our perspective is that maybe we will still try to get the results and overcome the results achieved in 2022, which was already a historic year”emphasized Nuno Fazenda.

The Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services also underlined that, specifically for the Easter period, the outlook indicates that Portugal “there will be good tourist demand in the whole area”.
