The CGT called this Thursday a 24-hour strike in the French refineries, on the eve of the expected decision of the Constitutional Council on the text of the pension reform, contested for three months by all the French unions.
“Unresigned” employees
At the seven refineries in France, at the forefront of the protest movement (including four TotalEnergies), “continuous strikes are suspended, all refineries are operating and sending fuel since the end of last week, and from Tuesday for the Normandy refinery “said the union official.
“But if the employees said they were continuously stopping the strike, they are not resigned to ensuring that the movement stops,” he added. “I think there will be another strike at TotalEnergies on Thursday,” he said.
The day after Thursday the 12th of the mobilization of the unions against this reform, the Constitutional Council must decide whether the reform, which provides in particular for a decrease in the legal retirement age from 62 to 64, is in accordance or not with the Constitution . .
