Despite sanctions, Russian oil exports in March at their highest point in 3 years

According to the International Energy Agency, Russia’s oil exports reached their highest level since April 2020, at 8.1 million barrels per day in March. Moscow’s revenue, on the other hand, is down 43% in a year.

Despite heavy sanctions from the European Union and the G7, Russia’s oil exports in March reached their highest level since April 2020, but Moscow’s revenue from them remains much lower than a year ago, it says on Friday the International Energy Agency (IEA).

Total oil shipments rose in March by 0.6 million barrels per day to 8.1 million barrels per day, pushing Moscow’s oil windfall from $1 billion to $12.7 billion in last month, which is still 43% lower than the previous year, according to the latest IEA report. .
