Greeted by a concert of saucepans during his trip to a factory in the Lower Rhine on Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron responded that “it is not the saucepans that will move France forward.”

Hexagonal cookware maker Cristel disagrees, letting it be known in a mischievous tweet: “Mr. President, at Cristel we make pans that move France forward.” A humorous tweet widely spread on the net.
Calls across France to touch kitchen utensils during Emmanuel Macron’s speech on Monday night sparked the movement. But the president warned on Thursday, during his trip to Hérault, that he has no intention of giving in to the challenge. And to add a layer: “eggs and casseroles are for home cooking only.”
