Thomas Pesquet now owns his business. The French astronaut has set up his own trading company, L’Informé reports Tuesday morning. This new venture was named Arcturus, taking inspiration from the name of a visible star in the constellation Bouvier. You will be responsible for managing your image, your participation in congresses or the production of audiovisual, photographic or literary works. It will also manage the services provided by Thomas Pesquet in the space or aeronautical sector.
“He remains an employee of our agency, fully committed to the performance of his technical tasks for manned missions to all present and future destinations” and this company “is completely independent”, the European Space Agency reacted to L’Informed.
Second favorite French personality
Starting a business company is no exception for European astronauts, but the latter usually take it upon themselves after leaving ESA, rather than during their career.
Very popular in France, Thomas Pesquet has sold nearly 200,000 copies of his latest book, which brings together photographs taken from the International Space Station, the proceeds of which have been donated to Restos du Coeur. As in 2021, he settled in 2022 in second place in the ranking of the favorite personalities of the French.
