Tax fraud: Gabriel Attal wants to target “the ultra-rich and multinationals”

Bercy must present this Tuesday the measures of its “battle plan” against tax evasion.

The government presents its “battle plan” against tax evasion on Tuesday, awaiting a second plan dedicated to social fraud at the end of the month. “It is a question of public finances, but also of national cohesion”, the Delegate Minister of Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal, declared on France Inter this Tuesday morning, evoking “an overwhelming majority of French people who work, who pay taxes and who are victim of these frauds”.

Loss of voting rights

Bercy is working in particular with the Ministry of Justice on the creation of a “fiscal indignity penalty”. “For the most serious tax fraud, I consider that when there is concealment of assets abroad and an organized gang, that we are more among the citizens.” The sanctioned person, “for several years, would no longer be entitled to any tax credit, to any tax reduction and would lose their civic rights, therefore, their right to vote.”

In addition, “I also want to address what is called the gray area, what is sometimes called tax optimization”, that is, “international fraud that escapes the law”, added Gabriel Attal, citing the multinationals that repatriate their benefits to other countries. .
