You will have to be fast. It is this Tuesday, May 23, that the SNCF will put 10,000 Ouigo Classic Train tickets on sale at the price of 1 euro each.
Tickets will be on sale from 7 am this Tuesday on the Ouigo.com website or on the Ouigo app. The planned trip must take place between May 24 and July 5, but must not refer to the Pentecost weekend (May 29). Buyers may only purchase a ticket at 1 euro per person.
Be careful though, these will not be Ouigo TGV tickets, but the Classic Train offer launched in 2022 as Corail trains, which are much slower. Count for example 4 hours for a Paris-Nantes, double that of a TGV.
All Ouigo Train Classique destinations will be affected by the offer, namely Angers, Le Mans, Chartres, Blois, Nantes, Dijon and Lyon. A total of 14 cities are accessible by Ouigo Classic Train on the Paris-Lyon and Paris-Nantes lines. It allows you to take advantage of low prices (between 10 and 49 euros, or even 5 euros for children under 12) in exchange for longer travel times.
1.3 million travelers
SNCF thus blows out the first candle of its new Ouigo service with this offer. The railway company is pleased with the success of this proposal and said to have carried 1.3 million passengers on these pink trains, that is, 3,600 tickets sold per day on average.
The company intends to eventually extend the Ouigo Train Classique to new destinations at the end of its experiment, which is supposed to last two years. The company wants to compete with the car and, ultimately, wants to offer an offer to destinations where the highways are the most frequented.
