Attacking the decrees in the courts: the next letter from the unions against the pension reform

If the day of mobilization on Tuesday could be the last, the unions promise to continue the mobilization against the pension reform, mobilizing all possible angles of attack to obtain the withdrawal.

A 14th and last day of mobilization? The inter-union union – which ensures that it will not “turn the page” on the pension reform – once again calls on the French to march in the streets this Tuesday, two days before the examination in the National Assembly of a bill aimed at repealing the elevation from retirement age to 64 years.

What will happen next? With the summer holidays approaching, some unions believe that the protest movement will probably not be able to last like this and that Tuesday’s demonstrations could therefore be the last:

“All possible angles will be mobilized to attack this reform”

However, the unions do not admit defeat. “We are not going to give up and we will continue to oppose this law (…). The inter-union will pass the time on this issue of pensions,” promised François Hommeril, president of the CFE-CGC.

On the other hand, the strategy must evolve to focus on the reform implementation decrees. “We have already noted that we had problems with certain decrees, which heralds many debates to come. We say that it is not possible to apply this law in 2023. All possible angles will be mobilized to attack this reform,” he assured. François Hommeril.

In the same line is the general secretary of the CGT, Sophie Binet. “It is scandalous to want to apply this reform at a forced march. We are going to look at the 31 decrees and as soon as there is a legal loophole, yes we are going to attack them, ”she warned on Sunday, on BFMTV.

The same story on the side of Frédéric Souillot. “Do I seem to want to turn the page? No,” said the leader of Force Ouvrière on France 2. “The fight will continue. There are 31 decrees that must be issued. There is the Council of State and the courts, we will attack them,” he promised.
