Definitely, HEC graduation ceremonies never cease to amaze. After a student’s speech warning about the climate emergency in 2022, it was the leader of the Magic System group who performed the show yesterday, for the 2023 edition. Present to receive his Master’s degree, A’Salfo made everyone dance.
After taking the stage, in her graduation dress, A’Salfo, Salif Traoré by his real name, he began his speech. “I tried to look at ChatGPT for the speech he could make (…) But ChatGPT doesn’t know everything we went through,” he says excitedly. So, as proof, he continues: “I’m going to do what I do best.”
The first notes of “1er Gaou” begin, the group’s first hit in 1999, and the audience -students, families and teachers- starts to dance. The rest of the group then joins him on stage in an electric atmosphere. The magical quartet does not stop there and continues with the title “Magic in the air”, a great success from the summer of 2014 that experienced a second wind during the 2018 Soccer World Cup.
A diploma of “Global Executive Master in Management”
Now the holder of a “Global Executive Master’s in Management” diploma, alternately initiated during the group’s tours, the singer and lyricist adds another string to his bow. On Facebook, A’Salfo posted a touching photo for the occasion with his daughter, each wearing grad caps.
Offered by HEC, one of the best business schools in the world, this two-year master’s degree “is aimed at leaders or managers who have or want to prepare for a role as strategic decision makers within their company,” as the brochure says. .
Not surprisingly, since A’Salfo, whose real name is Salif Traoré, is a committed man. UNESCO ambassador, he is also president of the Magic System foundation. Created in 2014, the association has the status of “Association of public utility” and carries out actions in Côte d’Ivoire, in particular projects in favor of children.
