Celebrities live different lives than the rest of us and are constantly dealing with adoring fans. That said, just because someone is famous doesn’t mean he can’t impress from time to time. NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick also has his own heroes and recently met one the masked singer it made him “lose his head”.
Chris Kirkpatrick has been exposed the masked singer like Hummingbird, but he was not the only celebrity unmasked that night (see ns the full season 8 list revealed here ). The public also learned that the knight was star Trek actor William Shatner and that The Hedgehog was Eric Idle of Monty Python (who revealed big news after the episode). Kirkpatrick said she didn’t know right away that Shatner was on the show with him, but she recounted what happened once she got the idea that she would soon meet Idle:
I was behind the scenes when they were revealed. They turned out one by one. William Shatner I didn’t listen and didn’t know until I finally got out and saw him sitting there. But, Eric Idle when he was backstage, I only listened to him because I was leaving and I heard him do the Monty Python song, “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life”, as his kind ending song. I just lost my mind. As soon as I heard it, I thought, ‘That’s one of the Monty Python guys. It must be Michael Palin, Eric Idle, one of them. I was a huge Monty Python fan. So much so that after we all revealed each other, I ran into his dressing room and just had to shake his hand and take a picture with him. It was amazing
Chris Kirkpatrick was so excited to meet someone from Monty Python that he couldn’t resist making a fanboy and taking a picture. Fortunately for him, the masked singer Season 8 is a season with the most eliminations per episode. If he had been in this same situation a previous season, he would not have been able to meet Eric Idle, because he would have had to remain anonymous.
The singer noted that he was also thrilled to meet William Shatner once he found out he was there later on on the show. Chris Kirkpatrick shared his experience of being with two icons and what it was like to hang out with them:
And, of course, William Shatner is a legend. He is so iconic that he goes beyond the iconic. It was great sharing a scene with them and having those moments where they joke with me and I look at them and say, “It’s William Shatner and Eric Idle joking with me right now.” It really is a bit surreal.
Unfortunately, the three men were sent home for the masked singer Season 8 Premiere. The new season format differs from past ones in that only one contestant who performs in the episode will advance to the next round. The end result is that viewers have far less time to predict celebrities’ identities and more candidates leave after having performed only one performance.
For Chris Kirkpatrick, it was a short time. Kirkpatrick joked in our interview that he did just as well the masked singer as he did in season 3 of big brother of celebrities. Ironically, there is another big brother of celebrities alum who participated the masked singerTodrick Hall, and his performance also reflects how he finished in both games. Hall finished second in both programs, but I guess on the left the masked singer with less harsh words compared to big brother of celebrities the final. Maybe Kirkpatrick has something with this phenomenon?
