Florent Pagny is better. In a new interview granted this Saturday to RTL, the singer, currently undergoing treatment for lung cancer, assures that his health is improving despite certain difficulties related to the disease.
“It’s special,” he admits. “This disease is special. Nothing has ever been finished. There are still many stages left. You have to go back again and again, follow the treatments.”
“We call it crab because it sticks hard. It’s tenacious,” adds the singer. “We manage. Once we’re on an adventure like this, we’re always checking to see if things are stable. But that’s okay, we’ll get there.”
“It’s not a serious flu”
“We never get off the hook,” he continues. Florent Pagny. “It’s not a serious flu. It’s not a disease that goes away once treatment is taken. It goes away and comes back. Even ten years later, it can come back. You should never claim victory.”
However, he remains optimistic. “The moral, I’ve always had it,” insists the person who will perform this Saturday night in Châlons-en-Champagne in front of 10,000 people. “You have to keep living. Be the closest to life.”
He also sees positive effects on his voice: “I can almost say it’s better than before,” he says. “Another good thing from a bad thing! I won’t smoke anymore. My voice has cleared. I’m amazed. That voice is good, great.”
Anyone who wants to be “an example” with their fight against cancer refuses to feel sorry for themselves: “I stay positive and future projects. But until everything is settled, I can’t spend as much time as I’d like in Patagonia.”
