Mathieu Kassovitz’s family gives reassuring news. The day after the serious motorcycle accident at the Linas-Montlhéry circuit, in Essonne, Peter’s father spoke about him in a statement sent to BFMTV:
“Operations tonight went well,” he said. “Mathieu will begin a normal process of healing, rest and physical conditioning. He is surrounded by his family and his loved ones.”

A few hours earlier, the 56-year-old actor’s entourage had announced to AFP that he had undergone surgery for serious injuries to his ankle, leg and pelvis. They specified that his days were not in danger and that they had put him in an “artificial coma” to alleviate his pain.
Accident during an internship
Mathieu Kassovitz took part in a riding development course on Sunday for the needs of a future motorcycle shoot at the Linas-Monthléry circuit in Essonne, south of Paris. He then lost control of his two-wheeler.
The Evry prosecutor’s office clarified that the actor was the only one involved in this accident and that he did not collide with another vehicle. An investigation has been opened to “look for the causes of the injuries” and will be based in particular on the hearing of witnesses, including the driving instructor.
