In a series of posts and photos posted on the platform, the 45-year-old artist claims the brand allegedly held meetings about him “without him being present” and plagiarized his Balenciaga-designed Yeezy Gap to make T-shirts out of his designs. classic collection.

“Gap is copying YGEBB,” the artist wrote in a post, shared on Instagram, along with a photo of the model he created.

In 2020, Kanye West signed a collaboration agreement with Gap for 10 years. The first item featured under the partnership, a puffy blue jacket that sells for $200, sold out within hours.

In line with this collaboration, the rapper also presented his Yeezy Gap collection, designed by Balenciaga, at the beginning of the year. Exposed in August in garbage bags at the initiative of Kanye West, these creations earned him strong criticism on the networks. Internet users denounced in particular the “millionaire fetishism” of the artist who had declared to have been “inspired by the homeless” for this presentation.
