NCIS: The Boss talks about arranging Callen and Anna’s wedding and why it’s so complicated

the first of NCIS: Los AngelesThe fourteenth season of is almost here and the wedding bells are about to ring. In the CBS How To season 13 finale, Callen proposed to Anna on the beach in front of her friends about her, and it was certainly one of the sweetest moments on the show. In the next season, the couple will not only have to deal with work, but also with their upcoming nuptials and, of course, both will have complications.

Callen and Anna, or Callanna, have been together since season 8 of NCIS: Los Angeles, so this marriage has certainly been a long time gone. As with any wedding preparation, there will be some complications. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill tells TV Line that Callen isn’t exactly the wedding type and planning isn’t necessarily one of his strengths:

Callen tries to embrace the concept of marriage, which isn’t necessarily something someone like Callen is good at. He is looking for a wedding venue, which doesn’t suit him very much. And of course, he’d like to escape, but, as he says, Arkady (Vyto Ruginis) would like to organize a wedding that recreates Doctor Zhivago with real snow. So they’re a little bit late in what that marriage is going to be like.

Unsurprisingly, they don’t like organizing weddings, as many couples do. The fact that he wants to run away and do nothing big could put a strain on the relationship, but it’s nothing the duo can’t handle. Plus, they have other things to worry about before the big day.

Although Callen and Anna have been together for a long time, the fact that it will be permanent very soon will obviously be a big change for them. R. Scott Gemmill explained that season 14 will be an ongoing story for Callen and how she deals with marriage and this life-changing adventure:

It’s kind of a continuing story this year in terms of Callen’s reflection on marriage and what it means. It’s someone, of course, who has been a typical lone wolf, so it’s a good thing to try to settle down and be in one place, and open your life to someone.

Perhaps the most important thing for the wedding is who will be there. As Callen finds herself grappling with these new changes, anxiety will likely only escalate as the couple starts putting together the guest list. Gemmill previously explained that Linda Hunt’s Hetty is supposed to be at Callanna’s wedding, but a conflict could arise:

He has some unfinished business and wouldn’t want to get married without Hetty (Linda Hunt) present. we don’t see it [conflict] in the first episode, but develops during the first few episodes.

Recovering Linda Hunt was a priority NCIS: THE, since Hetty is such a beloved character. With the huge role she plays in Callen’s life, she only makes sense that she’s there for her big day. Maybe even walk you down the aisle. It looks like Hetty’s return is sure to happen; it’s just a question of when and how.

Meanwhile, in addition to Callanna’s highly anticipated wedding, fans have another big event to look forward to next season. the trio NCIS crossover is finally happening for the first time NCIS, Los Angeles, Yes Hawaii. The episodes will air in January 2023, which could kick off the final parts of their respective seasons.

It’s unclear when Callen and Anna will get married in season, but it looks like fans can expect all the wedding planning and hustle and bustle during season 14. I’m sure it will make the wedding even more exciting. and real to the couple and the fans who have been waiting for it for a long time.
