Liam Gallagher becomes, for a week, the voice of the Manchester tram, where he is from, the British media announced. The former Oasis singer lends his voice to the Beyond The Music festival, organized this weekend in the city.
“Liam is doing his part. He is helping the festival and encouraging people to come to Manchester to support the talent of tomorrow,” a spokesman for the singer said. More than 100 artists are expected through Saturday during the festival.
“Liam loved the idea of surprising commuters by making the announcements himself. We asked him what his favorite line is. You’ll have to get on a tram to guess which one it is!”

This announcement marks 40 years since the launch of Bee Network, the British transport network. “It means a lot to us that Liam has agreed to do this and support his hometown,” said Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.
“Supporting our performance venues and allowing people to have access to better and cheaper public transport to get to these venues is essential for us,” the councilor continued.
“I’m sure Liam’s sweet tone will wake travelers up early in the morning, brighten their days and make many people smile on their travels,” concluded Andy Burnham.
