From cinema to stage. Although the musical comedy is an adaptation of Hate It is scheduled to be released at the end of 2024, director Mathieu Kassovitz, at the initiative of the project and the original film released in 1995, revealed new details about this production.
Invited to the set of Clique, the actor and filmmaker specifies that this musical will be a mix of dance, film, rap, theater and live entertainment, while remaining “very respectful of the original work.”
“It is a kind of extension of what ‘La Haine’ was. If we return to the film, we have the same dialogues, the same story, but sometimes simply seen from another angle,” he adds.
As for music, viewers will be able to discover fifteen original songs created for the occasion by a dozen artists. The story will be told through fourteen paintings that will establish “the link between the 90s and today,” according to Mathieu Kassovitz.

About thirty dancers, singers and actors must participate in this 90-minute show. Vinz, Saïd and Hubert – Vincent Cassel, Saïd Taghmaouï and Hubert Koundé in 1995 on the big screen – will be played by actors, dancers and singers.
