Grey’s Anatomy Fans were thrilled when Kate Walsh reprized the role of Addison Montgomery on the medical drama of season 18 after more than a decade. McDreamy’s ex-wife has made a few appearances, including one fantastic elevator scene of all time – like the famous gynecologist / gynecologist who attempted a revolutionary uterine transplant. Before the current season, it was announced that Addison would be returning to Seattle, like Walsh has signed on for a recurring role And after showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed a story coming up for season 19, I think I may know what Addison is facing.
when we speak with Term about what will happen Grey’s AnatomyKrista Vernoff has revealed that they will be facing another big problem this season, similar to her COVID story arc in season 17 which saw another. Meredith’s near-death experience when he caught the virus. When asked whether the medical drama will address the controversial reversal of Roe v. Wade, Vernoff replied:
Absolutely. The impact of this Supreme Court decision was enormous. And, just as there was no way to do a medical show without seeing the impact of Covid, there is no way to do a medical show without seeing the impact of that decision.
With the showrunner confirming that Roe v. Wade and his “massive” impact on our country will play a role in season 19, I think it’s a safe bet that fetal surgeon and neonatal goddess Addison Montgomery will play a big part in the story. Also I wouldn’t be surprised to see colleague OB / GYN Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) pass by post 19where is it she and his wife Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) are struggling to conceive a baby.
Krista Vernoff also hinted that the Roe v. Wade would be a general episode, rather than a one-off episode, which could fulfill star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo’s hopes that Grey’s Anatomy could become “Less preacher” with his social problems . on his podcast Tell me this summer Pompeo said:
I think I’d like to see things happen a little more subtly and on time. You know, constantly and mostly “I hit you on the head with this for just an hour and then we never talk about it again.” I wish we could address these social issues that are important and relevant and have them as a guiding thread.
Kate Walsh’s return in a recurring role seems like the perfect opportunity to give this important topic a respite in several episodes, especially after Addison’s uterus transplant did not produce the expected results last season.
With the character’s return in the October 20 episode, “Let’s Talk About Sex,” I’m also excited to see the dynamic between her and Lucas Adams (Niko Terho), who was turned out to be McDreamy’s grandson in the first season. Addison will be involved in the Uncomfortable confrontation awaiting Lucas , after deciding to make his fellow trainees believe he was sleeping with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), instead of revealing her family ties? I NEED Addison’s opinion on this stupid decision.
Whatever Addison Montgomery has to offer, I’ll be here for it, so join me in listening. Grey’s Anatomy at 9 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 20 on ABC. Also be sure to check out ours TV program 2022 to see what new and recurring shows are coming soon.
