Oprah Winfrey’s advice to Sherri Shepherd as she prepares to officially return to work at Wendy Williams

The day is fast approaching when Sherri Shepherd will premiere her new talk show and is excited to finally be taking the space of time previously occupied by Wendy Williams with his show, instead of just serving as a guest. The comedian / actress has great ideas when it comes to what she wants. Sherri reach out and it feels like you’re getting advice from the right person to make these things happen. Shepherd spoke of the wise words offered to him by none other than Oprah Winfrey about how to succeed in the daytime television arena.

Sherri will be presented on Monday 12 September, replacing The Wendy Williams show which was canceled after its 13th season when the guest of the same name was unable to appear last season due to health problems. Sherri Shepherd replaced Williams as guest presenter , but now that she is ready to make all her decisions, she took the opportunity to choose the mind of one of the most famous talk show hosts in television history. The parish priest recalled uh the advice she got from Oprah:

One thing I learned from Oprah is that she said, ‘Sherri, the show isn’t about ratings, it’s about energy. You give off energy and it will return to you in direct proportion to the audience. it is your responsibility. You are responsible for the energy in your schedule. I heard that, because I was like, fuck, I just wanted to show viral videos and make people laugh. But it’s true, it’s the energy you give off, and that’s why we love Oprah.

If Oprah claims she carries the energy, you can bet Sherri Shepherd will. On the one hand, I guess following the advice that “the queen of all media” sends her would be a good idea. But Shepherd’s background in cabaret also shows that she already knows how to engage her audience. In fact, she said that with Ellen DeGeneres finishing her show of hers after 19 seasons, she had a chance to fill that void of a daytime talk show hosted by comedians .

Sherri Shepherd was apparently able to get some great advice from Oprah Winfrey, as she said she took several pages of notes during her audience with the iconic host. She said:

I’ll literally frame the 15 pages of notes. I don’t even throw them away. Those will be in my memoirs, in my biopic, the notes will be on the wall. If I could have recorded Oprah, I would have, because I said no one would believe it.

I can only imagine the gems Oprah Winfrey left behind and Sherri Shepherd must feel very lucky to have these words of wisdom. Shepherd already had some ideas about how her show would be different from Wendy Williams’s. She wants a celebrity-friendly setting where her guests don’t have to worry about a “trapped” moment. Public comments suggested that some people thought Williams was “bad”. but it’s not something Shepherd intends to translate Sherri. maybe it will help attracting celebrities such as Michelle Obama, Meryl Streep and, of course, Oprah Winfrey herself .

Sherri debuts in syndication on Monday, September 12, so check your local listings for the time and channel. You can also check these out movies and shows to watch if you love Oprah Winfrey .
