Chris Evans responds after the Atlanta executive producer said he wasn’t contacted about the Season 4 prank

atlanta, Donald Glover’s critically acclaimed drama, may be poised to retire, but it’s about to be released in a blaze of glory. The fourth and final season of the FX original was flawless, providing viewers with more humor, surrealism and social commentary than expected. In the process, the show provided some humorous moments and one of those A + lines revolved around actor Chris Evans. The actor himself did not appear, and the show’s executive producer Stephen Glover revealed that he and his team never contacted the star for an appearance. And after Glover made those comments, Evans posted a response.

The sixth episode of atlanta In season four, Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, played by Brian Tyree Henry, attempts to avoid the “Crank Dat Killer”, a killer who attacks people who shot dance videos on Soulja Boy’s “Crank That”. While visiting the mall, Al tries to disguise himself, but is quickly recognized by a shop employee. He keeps calling him out for trying to go undercover, before pointing out Chris Evans nearby, who is also at the mall signing autographs.

As interesting as the joke was, it would have been even better if the Marvel alum had appeared instead of a lookalike, and the star herself seemed to have been open to that. Scrolling through Twitter, the actor saw Stephen Glover’s quotes about not contacting him and responded with a simple question:

Why not???

I’m not going to lie, I have to agree with A-lister’s sentiment. After all, atlanta has brought in some very surprising guest stars in the past, from Michael Vick to Liam Neeson. (Yes, you read the second on the right). And even in this most recent episode, Soulja Boy himself made a brief appearance. Facing the decision not to contact the former Captain America actor, Stephen Glover said:

We’re not trying to get Chris Evans. We just think it’s fun. The writers room has several jokes about Chris Evans, but we never tried to get him.

While some fans (like me) will likely mourn this missed opportunity, that’s okay in this stellar season. Honestly, as this season goes on, I just remember all the things I’m going to miss atlanta. But despite the continued popularity of the show, Donald Glover felt it was best to retire after season 4 . He, the cast and crew make the most of the latest episodes as they have covered a wide variety of topics (including the lifespan of black musicians ). If the series continues at this pace, it can be as big as The Sopranos ‘Last season – an idea that Glover has previously advocated.

I guess if there is any consolation here, it is that we now apparently know that Chris Evans is one of the show’s many fans. (It might not make you feel better if you don’t get a call, mind you.) However, I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t keep thinking about how good he might have looked.

atlanta airs new episodes every Thursday at 10pm ET on FX as part of the TV program 2022 . Those who want to catch up on the show can stream previous episodes using a Hulu subscription .
