If Switzerland won Eurovision 2024 this Saturday, May 11 in Malmö, Sweden, it is above all thanks to the jury’s vote. The 365 points awarded by professionals from the 37 voting countries allowed Nemo to take a considerable lead over its competitors, in particular France, which finished in fourth place in the final classification.
Because the public vote, which represents half of the points awarded during the evening, put Croatia in the lead with 337 points. A performance that allowed Baby Lasagna to rise to second place in the final classification.

Another popular country among the public: Israel, with 323 points. The country represented by Eden Golan finished in fifth position thanks to this support, while it was in 12th place after the professional vote.
Finally, the public allowed Ukraine to take third place by awarding it 307 points, thus stealing the bronze medal from France. Without this help kyiv would have finished fifth. France and Slimane, who occupy second place after the professional vote, occupy fourth position in the public vote classification and in the final classification.

The 2024 edition of Eurovision was monopolized by controversies surrounding Israeli participation, in a context of conflict in Gaza.
On Saturday, more than 5,000 people marched through the streets of Malmö, where the competition was held, against Israel’s participation. Two days before, there were more than 10,000 in this city where the majority of the Swedish population of Palestinian origin lives.
“I think it’s very important that people can demonstrate and express their opinions,” Nemo said during the turquoise carpet that opened Eurovision week.
