“It’s like someone is strangling you”: Celine Dion recounts the effects of her neurological disease

The Canadian singer confessed in a television interview that she had already had “broken ribs” due to the spasms caused by her illness.

“It’s like someone is strangling you, like someone is pressing on your larynx,” he explains on American television, pressing his throat.

These “spasms” prevent her from controlling her voice and have forced her to cancel numerous concerts in recent years. It then spread to other parts of her body.

“It can also be in the abdominals, in the spine, in the ribs,” explains the Canadian singer, who reveals that she has had “broken ribs” due to the force of those spasms.

These pains can occur at any time of the day. “I feel like if I point my feet, they’ll stay in that position. Or if I’m cooking, because I love to cook, my fingers, my hands, they’ll get in position… It’s a cramp, but it’s like a position where you can’t unlock them,” he says.

Celine Dion had already told last May, in an interview with Vogue, how she discovered that she suffered from this disease a few years ago, more than ten years after experiencing the first symptoms.

“Very soon I had difficulty controlling my voice (…) I began to have difficulty walking, I had to hold on to objects,” the superstar then confesses.
