NCIS has showcased the talent of more than a few memorable stars over the years, and Pauley Perrette is definitely one of them. The beloved actress, who played Abby Sciuto in the long-running drama for the first 15 seasons, continues to connect with her fans via social media and isn’t afraid to get personal from time to time. And now Perette is clear about the stroke she suffered a year ago and that she is “still here” after that ordeal and more.
Pauley Perrette took Twitter on the first anniversary of her stroke and shared a very personal video with her followers. The actress hasn’t been shy about the obstacles she has faced in recent years, but she is more than grateful for where she is at this point in her life:
Yes, I’m still here. How many times have I cheated death? I almost died of an allergy to hair dyes. I have food allergies; I am a survivor of domestic violence and rape. I was attacked by a crazy bum and I almost died and I’m still here. I am so thankful, especially for all of my rescue dogs that are there. And here I am; I’m still here, I feel good. [I’ve] I’ve been through a lot in the last couple of years, things that are harder than a stroke. But I’m still here and I’m very grateful. And thanks to those who are my friends.
You would think that talking about such topics in public would be difficult for a person, but the actress seems to have no problem. And the great thing is, many people have provided sweet answers in the comments section of the video, which you can see for yourself below:

In fact, Pauley Perrette has been through a lot in recent years. For example, in 2021, Perrette lost her father to whom she was very attached to COVID. Although she has been posting more positive things in recent years, such as collaborating with others NCIS stars for a good cause involving the LAFD, you have to appreciate the honesty it exudes when it comes to not-so-good stuff.
It goes without saying that having a stroke, losing your family and dealing with so many other things in a short time is difficult. Fortunately, though, it appears the star has a great support system and has remained productive. Ever since she retired after her CBS sitcom was canceled BrokenHe had a lot of free time and it is clear that the interpreter had a lot of time to think.
I think at times like these, the former actress could lean on peers like former co-star Michael Weatherly, who received a beautiful birthday tribute from Pauley Perrette. The two CBS stars have remained close since their respective departures from the show, with Perrette also once she warmed up with Weatherly and others. NCIS stars. Weatherly, on the other hand, shared their support for Broken before the show premieres in 2020. It never hurts to have good friends in good times and bad.
I think I’m speaking for everyone when I say I’m glad Pauley Perrette is still around. A sense of humor and a desire to be honest are definitely something that can be appreciated even more than her excellent screen work.
