Jared Padalecki faced off against villains as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker on The CW Walker only for a few seasons, but the series has already managed to get a prequel spin-off, Walker: Independence. While the spinoff is set in the late 1800s and follows Kat McNamara as Walker’s ancestor, Padalecki apparently still wants to appear on the show.
Although Padalecki is not starring in the prequel, for obvious reasons, he is still heavily involved as an executive producer. In an interview with TV Line he expressed interest in appearing on Walker: Independence, and you have several options as to how this can happen, since the series is shot in different states:
It’s something we’ve talked about and thought about since the first day of Walker Independence. And whether it’s a Walker flashback, or a Walker Independence flashforward, or if they can disguise me enough to make me exist in Independence, but not as Cordell Walker, I see lots of fun ways to incorporate the two and keep this walker – see you itself thrive and throw Easter eggs.
It would certainly be cool to see Jared Padalecki make a brief appearance Walker: Independence. Although I wonder how the shows might work as they are set in different centuries, the actor has some interesting ideas! Maybe there is even a way to do it without Padalecki having to be in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Independence gets hit.
Although it is not clear if and when we will see Jared Padalecki Walker: Independencethe series recently included a very familiar face for Supernatural Fans. Former Hell King Mark Sheppard plays Hagan in Walker prequel, and even though Hagan isn’t Crowley, it sure was fun to see him back on The CW.
Sure, it might make sense to focus on Cordell in the present a Walker as he and his brother Liam are still going through it after his kidnapping. Cordell is already a different man after these events, even though he doesn’t want to believe it and acts like everything is fine. Although Abigail may appear to him in a dream? Or your parents might tell you stories about your ancestors.
As for Walker: Independence, the series already seems to bring Abigail to disaster for the first season, even though losing her husband was hard enough already. Now that she is a legal counsel, she not only can she continue to do her job, but she can also take care of the sheriff, who killed her husband. So right now, both shows seem to be pretty busy with other storylines, but if that ties into the story, who knows if Jared Padalecki will show up. Independence in the next future? Even though he’s just a random guy running around town.
Since Jared Padalecki wants to appear Walker: Independence somehow, we cross our fingers for it to happen. But in the meantime, new episodes of Walker Yes Walker: Independence airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET, respectively, on The CW.
