Sixteen years after its launch, Slumdog Millionaire will make his return to the screen. According to the American media Deadline, the production company Bridge7 has acquired the rights to Danny Boyle’s film in order to produce a sequel to this feature film.
According to Deadline, this second part will tell “the next chapter of Jamal’s journey.” For now, actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto who played the lead roles in the original film have not been announced in the casting of this sequel.
8 Oscars and 4 Golden Globes
Directed by Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of Jamal, a young man (played by Dev Patel) born in the slums of India, who participates in the final of the Indian version of the game. Who wants to win millions?.
Released in 2008, this feature film was awarded eight Oscars, including best film and best direction. Slumdog Millionaire whose music was composed by AR Rahman, also won seven BAFTA awards and four Golden Globes.
