Marilyn Manson has reached an agreement with Evan Rachel Wood. In 2022, the singer filed a defamation complaint against the actress, who accused him of rape in a documentary. He has decided to drop the charges, Variety announces.
Marilyn Manson has agreed to reimburse $327,000 (almost $311,000) of the actress’ legal fees, according to documents obtained by the trade magazine.
“His attempt to silence and intimidate Ms. Wood failed,” the actress’ lawyers said in a statement, adding that the singer had filed the complaint “in an attempt to revive his flagging career.”
“As the court has shown, (Marilyn Manson’s) claims do not hold water. His decision to withdraw his complaint and reimburse Ms. Wood for her attorneys’ fees (…) confirms this,” Evan Rachel’s lawyers add. Wood.
