Before being convicted of bank fraud, Todd Chrisley explains the problem with people who say they understand their situation

2022 was a turbulent year for reality TV stars. Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were tried for bank fraud in May, e they were soon found guilty of this and of tax evasion with a sentencing hearing scheduled for October . And all of this happened before the United States aired the second half of Chrisley knows best Season 9. The couple has called for an acquittal and a retrial, which has yet to be delivered, and in the meantime they have continued to talk about their innocence by posting new episodes of their podcast. Chrisley’s confession. In the last episode, they talked about supporting fans and keeping prosecutors in their prayers, with the real estate mogul calling those who come close to sympathy saying they understand others’ problems.

The 198th episode of Chrisley’s confession , titled “Holding on to Pain, Spiritually Attacked, and God’s Plan,” featured Todd Chrisley’s following comparison of people approaching and offering what he apparently sees as false compassion. Here’s how he said it:

People only know what they know. So if someone says, “Oh, I know what you’re going through,” no, you don’t, unless you’ve been through it. There is no way for you to know. It’s like saying to a parent whose child is dying of cancer, “I know what you’re going through. No I do not. I don’t know, and I thank God I don’t know what you’re going through. My heart breaks for you, but I praise God because it’s not a battle he gave me.

It is difficult to predict that someone’s first instinct would be to equate “facing the consequences of a tax evasion conviction” with “facing a child dying of cancer”. But it is so. And while this may be a quantum leap, Todd Chrisley at least makes the point for him, and it makes sense in a tautological way. He then talked about this idea saying:

Maybe you didn’t go through the criminal proceedings that we went through, or the trials, or the slander of your name. So you can’t understand what he did to us. Just like I can’t understand what the fear is that you are holding your baby and wondering if your baby will be saved.

In this sense, it is technically impossible for Todd and Julie Chrisley to fully understand what the other is going through, as they interpret things differently. But they share the idea that people shouldn’t blindly pretend that they understand someone else’s pain, trauma, or general bad mood.

Julie Chrisley followed her husband’s words by saying:

I think that’s what we need to realize that we all have our wounds and we all have our hard times, and that everyone’s hard times are important to them. . . . And you don’t know what someone you might meet today is going through, who you might meet at the supermarket, who you might be passing by. You don’t know what their heart is, or what they’re doing just to try and stick together.

Simple and clear, always be nice to others. And if you think kindness involves using the phrase “I know what you’re going through”, then unless you’re a reality TV star who also lost a court battle over bank fraud allegations, maybe avoid contacting Todd directly. .

The couple remained steadfast in their position that their belief was not the right decision and that they will come out of this legal ordeal with the bright side your marriage is now stronger than ever . After the verdict, Todd Chrisley pondered the points in his life as he confesses he let his greed and love of money overshadow more important values .

With the hearing of the October sentence, barring legal delays, it is not clear what the future of the Chrisleys will be and whether or not they will reign supreme on reality TV. will continue in the US with season 10 and beyond .
