Andy Serkis had a major concern before accepting an invitation to return to Star Wars.

to exist many reasons for Star Wars fans to watch Andorand Andy Serkis’ performance as Kino Loy is among many on this list. The actor absolutely crushes him in his latest performance in the franchise, and viewers are interested in what will happen to his character in future episodes. Serkis said he was thrilled to play the role, but was primarily concerned about whether or not his appearance would confuse audiences.

As some may know, this is the second character he played Andy Serkis for Star Wars. Prior to being Kino Loy, Serkis portrayed (via motion capture) Supreme Leader Snoke in the sequel trilogy, and died unceremoniously thanks to kylo ren Serkis confessed in an interview with Gossipify that he was concerned about the role at first, as he thought pro-spec fans might try connecting Kino and Snoke somehow:

I was very surprised. I mean, I just didn’t want to confuse Snoke’s theories further by adding another character that people might think was related in some way. So I was a little fidgety and things like that, but I once talked to [series creator] tone [Gilroy] about it, and I thought: ‘Why not?’ She is such a fun character to play, so I decided to take the plunge.

Reservations aside, Andy Serkis has finally taken on the role of Kino Loy. So far it doesn’t appear that the character has any connection with Supreme Leader Snoke, but some of the crazy things that have happened in Star Wars Lore, I can understand why some readers may be suspicious of such links. Now that I have taken note of these theories, I must add that Snoke’s first cloning experiments will probably not begin until decades after the events of Andor, and it’s hard to imagine that a casual prisoner without apparent Force sensitivity is somehow related to this. Also, we know this from the novels Snoke was a little thus a connection with Kino Loy is highly unlikely unless the Empire uses its genes specifically for this.

The advantage that Kino Loy has no connection with Snoke, despite my wish Star Wars film for work on the characters of the series – is that it allows this impressive performance to stand on its own. Watching the head of the prison go from a strict follower of the rules to someone willing to accept an escape after everything he has witnessed in the last two episodes was a powerful thing and will likely stand out as one of the best moments of the series. Andor Season 1.

Andor He left Kino for the last time with Cassian, and his acquaintance will no doubt help him in his attempt to escape Narkina 5. However, it seems the chances of them escaping alive are slim, especially with these electrified floors. Of course, viewers know that Cassian will flee with his life and die for the rebel cause at a later date, but some fans are likely hoping that Kino Loy can find his way off the planet as well. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were already calls to add a Kino spin-off to the list of upcoming Star Wars projects, although it’s hard to imagine that actually happening.

Watch the new episodes of Andor on Disney + (opens in a new tab) Wednesday. Season 1 continues to run strong and season 2 is already locked for anyone wondering if they should keep them Disney + subscription during.
