Thirty years after making their mark on television in the early 1990s, Les Inconnus return to TF1 on Monday nights for a show featuring other stars performing their cult skits, from “Auteuil, Neuilly, Passy” up to “Chasseurs”.
“Artists have taken over our songs and our sketches,” Didier Bourdon said on the set of BFM Business on Friday. We do the common thread, with Pascal and Bernard, so we see ourselves hanging around a bit. There are a lot of artists. I was stunned by the work of these artists, the [Pierre] Palmade, Arnaud Ducret, Didier Morville (Editor’s Note JoeyStarr], Elie Semoun…”
“All the strangers, transmit to 21:10 is a two-hour fiction in which the Strangers play their own role, but in a parallel reality where everyone has forgotten them.
“An Old Fossil”
The trio perform a series of skits featuring 19 of the 180 skits created on their hit show. strangers tv. It aired between 1990 and 1993 (seven issues in total) on TF1’s rival channel, Antenne 2, which became France 2.
In these sketches, their characters are taken up by some sixty personalities, among which are the actors François Berléand, Isabelle Nanty or Patrick Chesnais, the youtubers McFly and Carlito, the rappers JoeyStarr and Soprano, the singer Helena Noguerra or the soccer player Adil Rami .
“I’m a little old fossil, there were names I didn’t know,” laughed another member of the trio, Bernard Campan (64).
“Some people I had on the phone told me that they were very afraid” of rubbing shoulders with these characters, who have passed into popular culture, said the third Unknown, Pascal Légitimus (63, like Bourdon).
“Politically correct”
In recent years, a new generation has experienced these sketches via YouTube. Légitimus even said that his teenage daughter did not know that he had been part of such a famous group of comedians, and that it was her friends who had taught him.
The sketches were shot identically (same set, costumes, dialogues). Among them, “It’s you that I love you”, “Sects”, “Rap-all” or “Gira hogares”.
In fiction, the trio plays with the codes of the times and “political correctness”, which have changed in 30 years, according to Bourdon:
“Today it can be difficult” to do certain skits, like “Biouman” or “The nurses”, in which they were dressed as Japanese and Antillean women.
“It scrambled our brains a bit: could we write ‘el negro’ today” in a sketch?, he wonders. “I have the right to say it!” Légitimus, of Guadalupe origin, interrupts him, smiling.
“Too annoying”
“It’s silly, it’s the opposite of humor,” Bourdon continues. “We were popular from Sarcelles to Neuilly. Evil is in the eye of the beholder.”
Inactive, the trio does not plan to return to television with new sketches.
Instead, Bourdon and Légitimus would like to return to the stage, but Campan would not. “It would be too much of a headache; at best it would be like ‘That’s just as good’ [qu’avant]but this work is done to improve things”, he justified himself.
Either all unknown it is a success, a second number could follow, with other sketches. In addition, TF1 will broadcast a documentary about the trio, on a still… unknown date.
In December 2020, TF1 had already tested the recipe with i love you hairstyle, and Muriel Robin’s sketches reviewed by others. A formula that had attracted more than 6 million viewers.
