Six years after his last series of concerts, Michel Polnareff returns to the stage at the age of 78. This new tour, scheduled from May 24 to July 8, 2023, will notably stop at the Accor Arena in Paris-Bercy. A dozen dates are planned at the Zenith and Arena de France (Nantes, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Lyon).
This tour accompanies the release, this Friday, of his new album, Polnareff sings Polnareff, piano-voiced versions of his greatest hits, offered in “pure and sublimated” versions according to the Parlophone record label. This is her first album since Finally!which marked his great return after an absence of almost thirty years.
For his new tour, Michel Polnareff will have a new device: “We have planned a piano-voice tour with a central stage”, he tells the Parisian. “But I don’t know how long it can last just by arousing interest… We have to do some tests. Maybe we can add other elements…”
The poster for his tour is a nod to the album cover. Polnarevolution (1972), where the singer exposed his buttocks. “It’s bad, isn’t it?”, he mocked in the columns of the Parisian. “We’re doing it with three this time. One Polnareff was tough, but with three, maybe we can do better.”
“I have tons of music!”
For the fans, this tour is good news: the live concerts from home, which should have been given as part of the experience. Polnareveswere canceled before the summer: “There was a problem with the transmission beam. An even bigger disappointment since my last tour ended in a mess…”
In fact, Michel Polnareff’s last tour in France ended in 2016 in confusion with the last dates canceled and a legal imbroglio with his tour producer at the time, who questioned the medical reasons invoked.
After this tour, Polnareff hopes to sign other albums. “I will do others, I have tons of music!” He warns. “That’s why it bothers me when people say that Polnareff is going to release a record with his own songs because it’s dry…”
