The former dancer and artistic director of Moulin Rouge in Paris died at the age of 65.

Janet Pharaoh, ballet teacher and artistic director of Moulin Rouge died at the age of 65, announced the legendary Parisian cabaret. According to our information, the former dancer who has been officiating for 45 years in Moulin Rouge, succumbed to a dazzling disease.

Originally from England, Janet Pharaoh had made his weapons in the middle of the cabaret first as a dancer in the Lido in Paris, then in the Scala of Barcelona before being asked by Doris Haug, former Ballet Moulin Moulin Mistress.

“I started here as a dancer, then as ‘Line Captain’. Then I had the opportunity to become a soloist and replace the leader,” Janet Pharaoh told RFI for the 125th anniversary of the Moulin Rouge.

In 1997, Doris Haug retired. Janet Pharaoh will be asked to happen as Lover of Ballet Moulin Rouge and will also become an artistic director of the Parisian institution.

In this position, Janet Pharaoh contributed significantly to the creation of the “Féerie” review in 1999, a famous show of residents of the Moulin Rouge. It was also the one who organized the audiences of the dancers around the world and that he selected for the different shows.
