A real playlist. King Charles III joined the Apple Music platform to reveal a reproduction list of his favorite pieces, the transmission giant announced on Friday, March 7. The sovereign occasionally recorded a special program.
In the program: great pop names such as Kylie Minogue, the LEGEND OF THE REGGAE BOB MARLEY, but also the disc diva Grace Jones, the British singer Raye and the icon of the Afrobeat Davido.
This project, entitled “The King’s Music Room” (“The King’s Music Fair”), is presented as a “tribute to the music of the Commonwealth, personally selected by her Majesty King Carlos III”.
March 10
This program and this reproduction list, which mark a rare commitment of the king in the world of music, offer an “unprecedented general description” of the report that the British sovereign has with music.
“Throughout my life, music has had great importance to me,” Charles said in a trailer already put online on YouTube. “I know this is also the case for many other people.”
And to add: “Music has the incredible ability to remind us of happy moments, comfort in moments of sadness and transport us in other states. But more (…) offers us joy.”
The program and the playlist will be presented this Monday, March 10 to commemorate on Commonwealth Day. The king will evoke his meetings with the selected artists and explain why some of these songs have “guided his life.”
