‘I feel stronger’: Jane Fonda optimistic about her chances of recovering from cancer

The Oscar-winning actress, who suffers from cancer of the lymphatic system, gives news of her state of health.

American actress and activist Jane Fonda, who announced last Friday that she had cancer, broke the news this week on her blog, saying she was “very well.”

“This is not my first encounter with cancer,” the star wrote. “I had breast cancer and a mastectomy before. It went very well and I will do very well again.” And to add:

“So many people have written to tell me they had the same cancer and had been cured for decades. I’ll be 85 soon. I don’t have to worry about living another decade. I’d settle for just one.”

“Three weeks after my first chemotherapy session, I must say that I feel stronger than I have in many years,” he wrote, adding that he was doing a lot of sports exercises and that he walks every day from morning to dawn.

The Oscar-winning actress suffers from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. She said that she was optimistic about her chances of recovery, denouncing in the process the inequalities of access to care in the United States.

“I’m also lucky to have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatment. I know I’m privileged and that’s sad,” she said last week.
