On daytime television, an afternoon slot has seen huge hits with Ellen De Generes’ show Yes The Oprah Winfrey show. Now pop superstar and daytime talk show host Kelly Clarkson is stepping into that role. Oprah and Ellen have big shoes to fill and Clarkson seems like the perfect choice. However, she has been transparent about the pressures of assistance.
When Ellen DeGeneres’ tenure ended last spring, many celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, have wished her a happy last day after 19 seasons on the air. Prior to DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey was in charge of the time slot for 25 years. Clarkson is preparing to take over, saying is making big changes . I recently spoke to Variety about her upcoming schedule change, the legacy she’ll be joining, and what she thinks about it:
I remember Oprah had this place forever. And then Ellen came along. And I think what helps me is that these two women are very different: the way they did their shows was very different, the way they connected with people was different, their humor was different. One was an actor, the other a journalist, and both were successful. Filling this space doesn’t mean you have to do one thing – it’s important that we all stand out and that we are all different.
The differences don’t seem to bother the singer. He has been successful in network television with both of them Kelly Clarkson’s show and as a coach The voice.
