The police custody of two members of the crew of a ship belonging to the Russian ghost fleet, the “Boracay”, organized on the French coast, extended, announced on Thursday, October 2, the Brest prosecutor.
It began on Tuesday: “The two measures of police custody in Progreso, with respect to the people who present themselves as the commander of the ship and their second, were subject to an extension decision yesterday” on Wednesday, to the AFP Stéphane Kellenberger.
Called “Pushpa” or “Boracay”, the 244 -meter long ship, currently surpassing Benin Pavilion, is under European sanctions for its belonging to the fleet used by Moscow to avoid Western sanctions against their oil sales.
The Brest prosecution announced on Wednesday, October 1, after having opened an investigation into the oil company after “maritime crimes”, reported Monday by the maritime prefect of the Atlantic, the heads of “lack of justification of the nationality of the ship/pavilion” and “negative to fulfill”.
