It keeps out of view, a place of reception and refuge of creation: an Ile -of -France that belonged to the famous German cost Karl Lagerfeld until its death in 2019 will be sold on Tuesday at the notarial auction.
Bought in 2010 by Lagerfeld, the “Viaisins Domaine” located in Louveciennes (Yvelines), nicknamed “La Villa out of Paris” for the fashion icon, will be sold at an initial price of 4.6 million euros.
A two -hectare park contains three separate houses, a pool and a tennis court, surrounded by “trees or walls” ensuring “discretion and anonymity”, underlines Jérôme Cauro, notary under the study of Arias in charge of the sale.
The main building, the “House of the Master”, as Jérôme Cauro calls it, is classic outside, sober inside. The absence of furniture during the visit, in which AFP participated, does not help project itself in the designer’s atmosphere.
Some shots posted in a book by Marie Kalt and Patrick Mauriès about the decorations of the properties of Karl Lagerfeld reveal creative furniture, German advertising posters collected by Le Couturier and innumerable books of books.
“The configuration of your furniture”
“It is a property that was the scene of its furniture,” explains Arno Felber, also a notary for the study of Arias. “He put everything in this last house, really liked.
Chanel’s former emblematic artistic director had even reproduced his son’s room in a small room with walls full of leopard fabric.
However, nothing is safe in Karl Lagerfeld’s habits in this house. The legend says that he would have slept only one night, that he would have received a great reception in honor of Princess Caroline of Monaco or that easily lent her to her friends.

“He liked to come there the day to create and liked to receive,” said Jérôme Cauro. The three halls and the kitchen, with four ovens, five frogs, two refrigerators and two fryers, are sized for dinner of 100 people.
Karl Lagerfld workshop occupied a large part of the first floor of the 600 m² residence, where he had installed hair in each window and had fun with very white lights, as he used to do it in his workshops. From its creation phases, there are some square pots of paint that remain in a drawer.
A friends house, a pool, a tennis court
A stone launch is the “House of Friends” and its three bedrooms, and under the “Pool House” park, a house with a room, adjacent to the pool and the tennis court.
According to the ARIAS of the notarial study, the fashion legend carried out a “colossal work” in this property that belonged to the Leconte poet of Lisle and the members of the Rothschild family in the first half of the nineteenth century.

“We have no bill, but it is estimated that the amount of work is close to the amount of the price” of 4.6 million, says Arno Felber.
All buildings have been renewed and modernized with detailed attention that has come to the painting of electric plugs and the choice of fire extinguishers with silver design so as not to swear with the decoration.
Abandoned after the death of “Kaiser”, the house was bought in 2023 for a property that resumed its maintenance and put it on sale.
Jérôme Caudo claims to have “contacts with families” and believes that property may also interest events or companies.

The sale will take place “in candle”, according to the traditional auction method of notaries: the time of the auction is defined by the consumption of two candles of approximately fifteen seconds.
In March 2024, the Parisian apartment of Karl Lagerfeld, a 260 m2 three -piece futuristic with a dressing room of more than 50 m2, had been sold ten million euros for the study of Althemis notaries, twice as much as its sale price.
