After rocket launches and astronauts in space in Netflix will soon be possible, the American Platform and Space Agency, NASA, announced Monday.
“Whether it is a space fan or someone who simply likes to see that the earth shines more than 400 km above sea level, the countdown has officially begun,” published the American transmission giant in a blog, promising a transmission start this summer.
In the program, it specifies: “Impressive views of the Earth from the International Space Station (ISS), extra-vehicular exits of astronauts that give it cold sweats and rocket releases.”
Such a distribution agreement will allow “the space to be more accessible in homes,” he congratulated the space agency in a press release, without revealing the duration or amount of this contract.
Boxing and NFL
Netflix had signed a similar association at the beginning of June with TF1, leader in audiences in France, which allowed the American platform to transmit the group’s channels. This was a world premiere, Netflix had never previously opened to another operator.
With NASA, the American giant, who had more than 300 million subscribers worldwide last December, can add a space repertoire to its growing live content offer.
At the end of 2024, the platform had distinguished significantly by transmitting two Games of the Professional League for the NFL of American Football and a boxing combat between YouTuber Jake Paul and Mike Tyson Live Live.
However, NASA’s space missions will remain available live for free and without advertising on the site and application of the agency, insisted on NASA.
