The festival that would welcome rapper Kanye West next week in Slovakia was canceled due to “media pressure” and the “withdrawal of several artists and partners,” said the organizing team.
“It was not an easy decision,” he wrote Wednesday night on Instagram, without making a link between the arrival of the American artist and registered releases. This festival called Rubicon, which would organize in private property, did not want to give more explanations.
A petition raised thousands of signatures
“We wanted to bring a great star to Slovakia,” said Robert Miklos, one of the organizers, who announced his resignation last week without giving the reasons either.
“Believing that I share your opinions is absurd. It’s like an artist we wanted me to come,” he added.
When announcing the unique European concert of the 48 -year -old American rapper on July 20 in Bratislava, this festival had attracted the criticisms of the associations due to the neo -Nazi statements of La Estrella.
Thousands of people had signed a petition against this concert, an “insult to the memory of the victims and a glorification of violence,” according to the text.
