There is no housewives, trance or drums in September in the streets of Paris: the Techno paradeA festive showcase of electro music in France will not take place this year due to financial difficulties.
The event is “mainly compatible with private brands, (O) are increasingly difficult to mobilize”, announced in a press release to the AFP of the Technople Association that has organized the event since 1998. In 2024, the techno parade had been canceled due to the possession of the Paris Olympic Games.
The last edition dates back to 2023 with about 400,000 participants, a record, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary. Since the creation of Techno Parade in 1998, two other editions did not take place: in 2001, the day after the September 11 attacks, in 2020 and 2021 due to the health crisis.
“The objective is clear (…) The next edition will take place in 2026, this year (note of the 2025 editor) marked by a reflection with public and private partners in a renewed and equally ambitious model of the Techno Parade, more than 25 years after its creation,” explains Technopol.
“Therefore, we have made the decision to rethink our financing model, work with long -term partners, to preserve our event and do it live over time,” adds the association.
“We have minerals and we already have brands of interest from private partners (…) The 2026 edition will be even more surprising because Technople is currently working, with our FG radio friends, in an inscription of electronic music + French + in the national inventory of the Intangible Cultural inheritance of UNESCO”, underlying Technople, remembering that the president of the president was favorable.

For the former minister, “electronic music needs an important popular event. The money is found and competitions are obtained. The Paris City Council and the State must take a solid initiative in the next time.”
The first techno parade was held on September 19, 1998, gathering 200,000 people “for the defense and recognition of electronic music”, then demonized. Since then, he has claimed 143 km who traveled in the streets of Paris, with more than 350 tanks and his “sound system”, 2,000 DJs and 6.3 million participants.
Technople offers an appointment to electro fans from September 11 to 14 in the fertile city of Pantin (Seine-Saint-Denis) with the “Electronic Week of Paris”, dedicated to electronic music.
