The largest event ever organized by the French subsidiary of Spotify. The brand announces on Monday exclusively in BFMTV that is preparing the spotify festival, the first -scale festival dedicated exclusively to French female artists.
On November 18, an unprecedented event will be held at the Palais Brongniart. He will gather Shay, Clara Luciani, Charlotte Cardin, Theodora, Oklou, Miki and Bamble.
Gender equality
Thought as an extension of the “Spotify equal” program, which promotes gender equality in the music industry by highlighting the music of female artists around the world, the event aims to celebrate the talent of French artists who are already established in the French musical landscape, but also to highlight the emerging talents of tomorrow.
The scene, specifically designed for the event, is signed Daphnée Lanternier, creative director. “This election embodies the desire to improve the feminine aspect even in staging,” said Spotify press release.
On stage, artists from different horizons will follow each other, “representing a wide range of musical styles acclaimed by listeners ranging from the song to rap, through pop, electro or dancehall,” added the press release. The programming of the festival welcomes both artists from France, Canada and Belgium.
Enthusiasm
This choice resonates with a growing madness for French music: in 2024, more than 123 million users listened to French content on the platform, including more than 100 million countries outside the countries that speak French. And since 2019, listening to music that speaks French on the platform has even increased by 192%.
Between the first half of 2024 and the first half of 2025, young artists supported by the equal program saw their currents fly: +9390 % for Theodora, +806 % for Miki, +759 % for Oklou and +170 % for Bamby. Since its launch in April 2021, French’s reproduction list still stood out no less than 1075 artists.
