Britney Spears deleted her Instagram for a while last week. I can’t blame you if you didn’t notice. The beloved pop star got rid of her account and then reactivated it several times in recent months. She now she’s back, and she’s pretty much business as usual out there, which of course means a carnival of addictive and sometimes NSFW weirdness.
In the last few days alone, she has given her fans a close-up reel of her smoothing her hair and grimacing while wearing a nightgown, a montage of several non-Christmas outfits set to music by NoëlOui some random illustrations presented without comments but with due credit. All of this seems pretty close to the mark for the legend’s Instagram account, but perhaps not as close as the conspiracy theories rampant in her comments.
I wouldn’t describe myself as a big comment section person or a big conspiracy theory person, but if you’ve spent any time on Britney’s Instagram in the last few months, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about. Damn, almost every post the singer posts is immediately inundated with questions about what’s going on at her house and/or questions about when the content was recorded. Let me go back and explain.
Last summer, Britney Spears said she was moving into a new house with her new husband Sam Asghari, which was covered extensively in the media. She also later posted and deleted a video that appeared to be filmed poolside in the new backyard, but in recent months, Spears has continued to post numerous Instagram videos that appear to be set in her old home. . She’s also posted videos that she says date from the same day, but include numerous comments from fans who claim they’ve already posted them months or even years ago. Each time this happens, the WTF questions get louder and more aggressive.
Take his most recent video for example. It’s one of her in a nightgown. She posted it yesterday. Here’s the main comment…
It’s not like some random person posted it and it went unnoticed. This question has more than 2,000 likes. And it’s not some weird outlier that just happened in this video. Almost all of the top comments on her Instagram posts in the last few months are 1) people asking what’s going on with the house, 2) people speculating the video was taken some time ago, 3) people expressing well-being concerns of Spears.
Last week, she posted a funny video of herself. she ride a bicycle, which she claimed to do every morning. Almost immediately, comments from her started pouring in stating that she had already posted the same video years ago…
The latter message seems to imply that someone else is managing Spears’ account. Sure, some fans are convinced that others are posting on behalf of Spears, but it’s not a uniform consensus. In fact, most fans don’t seem to speculate what’s going on. They just raise their hand and say something weird is going on.

Last week, Spears’ husband Sam Asghari tried to move in with her while the two were in bed. She declined without being shown. I have no idea if the short livestream was her way of addressing people in the comments section who were begging Spears to move into her new home, but the short clip, which quickly went viral, did nothing to stop the theories of the plot. . Indeed, they are clearly getting stronger.
Britney doesn’t owe anyone to go live or answer any of the questions in her comments section. If you want to post old videos, you can. If you’re still living in your old house and making new videos, you don’t need to clear up this confusion. Given what happened with the guardianship, she, more than anyone else, should be able to make her own decisions.
But at this point, it’s probably also fair to admit that unless there are answers to at least the house question, these conspiracies will continue to dominate your comment section.
