The trailer, released as part of the San Diego Comic-Con presentation for the upcoming series, not only hints at Sauron, but specifically names him just over a minute in the footage. We also seem to see some glimpses of Sauron’s armor, albeit in shadow. He isn’t even the only villain to appear in the trailer.
It is now clear that the orcs will be a problem for Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and the others who will fight the forces of evil in power ringswhat is the other the Lord of the Rings article that was not guaranteed at full power only in the first season. Furthermore, the trailer ends with an incredible look: a ferocious Balrog roaring out of the darkness, presumably deep in Khazad-dúm (also known as the fortress later known as the Mines of Moria), has already been confirmed.
There is more to recognize in the trailer besides the iconic villains. Less than a minute later, Queen Regent Miriel (played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson) discovers a palatir for Galadriel. And there are even more! What looks like a Nazgul sword seems to take shape about 90 seconds later, although that’s speculation at this point. There are also five sword-wielding men, perhaps with more around them, which could make them bearers of the nine rings given to men. Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur) holds a ring of about two minutes, which is presumably one of seven given to the dwarves.
All in all, there is a lot to absorb, speculate and question after this trailer, but the one thing that is very safe to say is that the Elves will get their “days of peace” wrong. “, and probably Elrond (Robert Aramayo) It won’t be long before he loses his smile.
