Francofolies de La Rochelle 2026: the festival presents its first two headliners with Gims and Orelsan

Three months after its closing, the Charente-Maritime festival presents this Tuesday, October 14, two first artists of its 42nd edition. On the program: the return of an artist ten years after his last performance and a regular about to release a new album.

They come back. As La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) recovers from the 2025 edition of the Francofolies, the organization reveals two names of its next batch. This Tuesday, October 14, the “Francos” agree to Gims and Orelsan their 2026 program.

Please note that the two artists are scheduled on the Jean-Louis Foulquier stage, but two days apart. The first is scheduled for Friday, July 10, while the second is announced on Sunday, July 12.

The former leader of Sexion d’Assaut marks his grand return to the La Rochelle festival after a notable appearance in 2016. Ten years later, the festival announces an XXL show “to get the ball rolling” and set the tone for the rest of the parties.

After a year marked by successes and sales records for his latest album The North remembers: The OdysseyThe rapper is preparing to live a year of touring in large venues in 2026. Three concerts are also planned at the Défense Arena, the largest venue in Europe in Hauts-de-Seine, on December 19, 20 and 21.

Fourth visit to the “Francos” for Orelsan

Orelsan, a regular at the festival, will participate for the fourth time. After a first visit in 2013, he came to defend his duo project with Gringe, les Casseurs Flowters the following year. 2022 marked the year he toured the album. Civilization released a year earlier and its third run.

The next few months promise to be very intense, especially with the premiere of the film. Yoroiwhose premiere is scheduled for October 29 and which is co-directed by the rapper from Caen. The 43-year-old rapper has announced a tour in 2026 with no less than 33 dates starting January 16, with a visit to Paris for 10 nights at the Accor Arena in December, all of which are already sold out.

In order not to miss either artist at the Francofolies, the box office is now open this Tuesday morning. As for the rest of the programming, the organization assures that the rest is yet to be revealed.
