A flat-rate aid of 500 euros to obtain a driving license for learners is eliminated in the finance bill (PLF) for 2026 presented this Tuesday, October 14, by the Government.
“These aids represent a breach of equality with respect to other students who do not benefit from them and are not conditioned to the learner’s level of resources nor are they adjusted based on the rest of the aid they receive,” the executive justifies.
“Overlap with many existing devices”
Furthermore, this aid “overlays numerous measures existing elsewhere, financed in particular by local authorities or the State”, such as the one-euro permit for young people, the personal training account (CPF) or local aid, according to the draft budget.
The driving license can still be financed by the CPF, but the eligibility conditions have been tightened in 2024, imposing a remainder of 100 euros and excluding people who already have another license from the financing of motorcycle licenses.
