The creator of the phenomenon series. AdolescenceBritish actor Stephen Graham invited fathers from around the world to write a letter to their sons about their vision and experience of masculinity, as part of a book project.
Letters can be submitted from Wednesday until January 12, and a selection will be compiled into a book to be published in October 2026.
The British miniseries Adolescent, broadcast on Netflix since March 2025 and crowned with success at the Emmy Awards, has sparked a social debate in the United Kingdom and elsewhere about the influence of masculinist discourses and social networks on children. It tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who killed one of his classmates.
“After making Adolescent, I was really surprised by how many parents came up to me about the conversations they had with their kids,” says Stephen Graham, who plays the teen’s father on the show.
“We had the wonderful idea of asking you, parents, to write letters for a book in which you could really talk to your children, communicate with them,” the actor continues in a video on the website of the “Letters to Our Children” project, which he is launching with psychologist Orly Klein.

Fathers are invited to express what they wish they had known when they were younger, what advice they would like to give their son, and what they think “it means to be a man.”
“Get out a pen or keyboard and ask someone to help you if you want,” encourages Stephen Graham. “I’m dyslexic, but I’m going to write one anyway and my wife will probably help me,” confesses the 52-year-old actor.
Letters are unpaid and can be sent anonymously. The book will be published by Bloomsbury.
the series Adolescencewhich features four episodes filmed in a single sequence, became Netflix’s second most popular English-language series (after Wednesday). It was made available free of charge to British middle and high schools, a government-supported initiative.
It won eight awards at the Emmy Awards in September, including best miniseries.
