Comedian Jarry pinned by former collaborators. According to an investigation by Médiapart, published on October 17, the comedian made inappropriate gestures and comments on the set of retirement homeseries adaptation of the French comedy released in 2022, last spring.
According to more than fifteen witnesses interviewed anonymously, Jarry had a habit of making sexist, racist, “embarrassing,” “humiliating” or “degrading” comments.
According to Médiapart, a black actor, present on the set, was nicknamed “Kirikou” by Jarry. “There was a young black actor on the set, who didn’t master his lines. He said something like: ‘Come on, you have to go Kirikou’. There was a great silence on the set, no one said anything,” says a technician.
“You have to turn around quickly, otherwise we won’t see you again,” the comedian also reportedly told him, also allowing himself to reflect on his frizzy hair.
“Very tactile” and “biased valves”
Another witness present during filming states that Jarry “is very tactile” with the young actors and “that he touches their abs or shoulders a lot to see if they are muscular.”
According to another coach, “everything revolves around the ass” with Jarry. “He constantly makes biased jokes that end up being degrading and even humiliating for people,” he confesses. The comedian would have made jokes about his penis, nicknamed “the monster.”
Finally, other witnesses accuse Jarry of having been violent during this filming. “The first day he almost hit one of the costume designers. I saw him hit her hand,” says one of them.
“He was absolutely arbitrary and execrable with some technicians, but also in management, where he caused scandals for completely useless things, in particular stories about gluten-free cakes,” says another witness.
Contacted by Médiapart, Jarry did not want to respond to these accusations. He simply sent a message: “I hope to have you one day in my room to understand my quest to unite people regardless of their gender, religion, skin color! The coexistence that gives meaning to life. Take sincere care of each other.” According to Médiapart, no complaint has yet been filed against the comedian.
