The young American is not done with her European adventures. Netflix has just revealed the trailer for the fifth season ofEmily in Paris. In the first trailer, Emily wanders through Roman streets, navigates Venetian canals, and returns to Parisian rooftops. A wandering that illustrates the new challenge of the heroine played by Lily Collins: directing the management of the Roman office of the Grateau agency while preserving her Parisian ties.
Emily now runs the agency’s Roman branch, after meeting Marcello Muratori at the end of the previous season. But Paris is still in play, as confirmed by series creator Darren Star, who specifies that Emily will always have a presence in the French capital.
The plot evokes the professional and emotional difficulties that await the heroine in her new city. A bad decision disrupts the office, with repercussions on both his career and his romantic relationships. Emily seeks stability through a French lifestyle, until a secret threatens one of her closest relationships.
The return of the cast and new faces
Familiar characters will return: Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie and the other members of the Parisian team. Lucas Bravo reprises the role of Gabriel, despite his critical statements about his character’s development while promoting the film Free. The actor had expressed a desire to see Gabriel gain in complexity, which had fueled speculation about his possible departure.
Camille Razat, who played Camille, however left the series to dedicate herself to film. The cast welcomes new faces: Michèle Laroque plays Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie, while Minnie Driver plays Princess Jane, a relative of Sylvie who married into a royal family.
