The American hip-hop mogul P. Diddy was transferred to a penitentiary center in New Jersey, near New York, to serve his sentence of four years and two months in a case of sexual violence, as reported this Friday by the registry of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
His file indicates that Sean Combs, his real name, is now incarcerated at Fort Dix (130 kilometers south of New York), a prison with a lighter security regime and a drug program to which his lawyers had requested his transfer.
Arrested in September 2024, the singer and businessman had until then been held in a prison in the New York district of Brooklyn, known for its unsanitary conditions.
Launched in May 2025
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons registry, Sean Combs is eligible for release on May 8, 2028. This date takes into account time already spent behind bars and possible sentence reductions for good behavior in custody.
On October 3, P. Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison for transporting people for the purpose of prostitution, as well as a fine of $500,000. His lawyers appealed this sentence and his conviction in July, after two months of trial.
Jurors in federal court in New York dismissed the most serious charges of sex trafficking and criminal conspiracy against the former star, sparing him a life sentence.
Just before receiving his sentence, the rapper apologized to his two main victims and called their behavior “disgusting, shameful and sick.” “I was sick. Sick from drugs, I was out of control,” he added.
