ABBA: his futuristic hologram show extended until November 2023

During this show, launched in London in May, the four members of the Swedish group are replaced on stage by eternally young digital alter-egos.

It is one of the most impressive shows of the moment. Since May 27, the ABBA group has been performing in London for their residency event called “ABBA Voyage”.

During this show, acclaimed for its revolutionary technology, Anni-Frid, Björn, Benny and Agnetha (acronym “ABBA”) are replaced on stage by “ABBAtars”, digitally created after the faces of members of the Swedish group in the decade 1970’s

For this reason, given its success, this series of concerts initially scheduled until October 2022 will continue until November 27, 2023 at the ABBA Arena, a room specially built to host the event.

“They will take care”

After almost four decades of silence and de facto separation, ABBA released a new album in November 2021, Tripand had embarked on the preparation of a futuristic show to accompany this record.

The technological prowess of the show is the result of years of work, in collaboration with the visual effects company of George Lucas, creator of the saga. Star Wars. If it is indeed the actual voices of the ABBA members that we hear during the concert, their movements were captured in the studio to be reproduced on stage by their “ABBAtars”.

“We put our hearts and souls into these avatars and they will take over,” Björn Ulvaeus, one of the Scandinavian foursome we met in Stockholm, told AFP ahead of the show’s May 25 premiere.

Tickets for the new concert dates added are already on sale on the official ABBA website, at a rate of seven performances per week.
