Investigative proceedings may be all the rage on TV, but there aren’t enough thrillers. At least that’s the message I got from the resounding success of knives out 1and after watching the first trailer for knives out 2impatient Glass onion: a mystery at loggerheads, I get the same message. I’m ready to step in, put on a wild Daniel Craig accent and start interviewing suspects now.
And this time around, there are still plenty of suspects, and luckily for all of us, they’re played by a cast of great actors, including Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, and many more. In fact, forget it. I’m not even going to say and more. I’ll continue to break this cast down: Leslie Odom Jr, Janelle Monáe, Jessica Henwick, Ethan Hawke in a mystery role, and more. I can’t wait for each of them to produce a scene of the interrogation with the lights out.
Also, I can’t wait for Rian Johnson to take a lot of amazing shots. Part of the reason why I think knives out it played so well with the viewers the first time because it’s not only a great mystery, but also a very well made film. Director Rian Johnson is a director in the best sense of the word and pays close attention to the images, camera angles and overall aesthetics of the films he makes. And in the trailer there are many signs that point to this. All slide puzzle work is excellent. There is a lot to do with shadows. I mean, look at that chandelier …
Now, I still don’t have a good idea of what the movie is or how any of these pieces fit together, but to me that’s a huge plus in a mystery. In fact, when Rian Johnson tweeted today’s trailer also said that some people may want to keep scrolling to get in completely fresh. For this reason, I was a little worried when I hit play, but given the little real information we got, I don’t regret my decision at all.
It is also likely that Netflix will not regret its decision. The streaming giant paid about $ 400 million for the rights knives out 2 Yes knives out 3 after the first film, it was a huge success for Lionsgate. Given this trailer and the power of the stars involved, there’s no reason to think the sequel won’t connect with even more people.
