Four days after the broadcast of the first three episodes of the documentary series on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Netflix shares a new trailer for the next three episodes of the program, broadcast starting Thursday, December 15 on the platform.
After a first part against the tabloid press that “made life impossible for them”, Meghan and Harry evoke in this second part, pompously named “Vol II”, their resounding withdrawal from the royal family in 2020, as well as their “fight” to “create the home we dream of”.
“What would have happened to us if we hadn’t left?” Harry asks. Before adding: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother.”
“Without protection. Everyone knew where to find us,” adds Meghan, before explaining: “They didn’t throw me into the sand, they offered me as food.”
lies of the monarchy
In this trailer we see in particular images of the couple on their plane to Canada, where they initially settled with their son Archie. “I said, ‘we’re leaving. We’re flying to freedom,'” Harry says in the documentary.
In addition to the fierceness of the press against the couple who seem to be at the center of the next three episodes, Harry and Meghan also accuse the monarchy in this trailer of lying.
“It is normal for them to lie to protect my brother but they were not prepared to tell the truth to protect us,” Harry says in the documentary about his eldest son William, heir to the British crown.
A more explosive second part?
This series, where Harry and Meghan settle accounts with the British tabloids and portray a racist and intolerant United Kingdom, has aroused much criticism, especially in the press, directed especially by the couple.
This is demonstrated by the virulent headlines of the British newspapers the day after the program was broadcast. While many outlets have suggested in particular that this documentary tarnishes the image of the royal family and Elizabeth II, others have also highlighted the lack of revelations from the program, as occurred in 2021 during Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the couple.
Therefore, the expectations are even greater for these three new episodes that promise to be more explosive than the first part for the royal family. They will be available on Netflix this Thursday, December 15.
